Pam, the youngest of four children, was born and raised in Ohio. After graduating from Kent State University in 1974, she moved to Colorado, where she taught Special Education for Emotionally Handicapped students. Pam earned her Master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) and received her Counseling Degree from the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver). She enjoyed a successful 30-year career as an elementary school counselor before retiring. After retirement, Pam taught English in Hungary and Costa Rica.
Pam has two adult children, both of whom are teachers, and four grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 20. She has always had a deep love for children and relishes the challenge of meeting the needs of families from diverse backgrounds. Her first book, Mr. Brown, Sadie, and Me, about a young boy who meets his elderly neighbor, has been enjoyed by second graders. Her new book, Now It’s Just Sadie and Me, guides parents through the emotions children experience when learning about death for the first time.
Pam loves hearing from her readers and welcomes emails at pamdeckconnect@gmail.com.
